What's Fresh at Sixth Street and Celilo Late Spring 2007

Wow, when the first flush of produce shows up, it really SHOWS UP!

Vendors are at our door daily now, great greens, and early season produce:

Strawberries....

Late season Mushrooms...including the spectacular Porcini.....and of course Oregon Black Morels.....tiny, and tasty!

Asparagus (including special white asparagus)

A touch early for Cherries, and they'll be scarce because of frost this year.......but lots of other great stuff!

Sunday Bloody Mary Bar

OK, so I used to drink alot of Bloody Marys, and even considered myself a bit of an afficianado at one point, so the new Bloody Mary Bar at the Sixth Street caught my eye. Alcohol or no, that great spicy tomato concoction is totally addicting! Here's how it works............

Every Sunday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, you may choose the vodka (or not), we put it in a pint glass with ice, and you add the bloody mix and the condiments- creating your own custom, perfect Bloody Mary!

You have a choice of 3 different bloody mixes, many sauces and spices, and Organic Outback Farms pickled asparagus, celery, olives, pickled beans...

It sounds crazy but you'll make one of the best tasting drinks around. Already people are coming back again and again..........

Visit to Dancing Moon Farms

I had a chance to go out and visit Dancing Moon Farm last week, just as the first Summer flush comes in. What a great farm, and a terriffic CSA for our area....I think they are sold out for this year, but if they are not, contact them, and see if they still have shares available!

Here's a couple of shots of what they are up to......
